When Nintendo started doing these Nintendo Direct things I wasn’t convinced it was the best move, especially as someone that cover E3 from the show floor every year. But I couldn’t be more wrong. Sure, E3 will never be the same, but we are getting huge news more often which is good for gamers everywhere.
The latest Nintendo Direct dropped on us news of a remake that has me more excited than I was about Resident Evil 2. The legendary Game Boy classic The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is coming back!
I still own my Game Boy and that game defined the system for me. It was a masterpiece on a small screen that not even the Oracle games could match, in my opinion at least. It’s the kind of remake I can really get behind because of the potential.
Nintendo says it is being “reborn as a new experience” for the Nintendo Switch. We don’t know the details of the statement but the game will keep its top-down look. From the trailer it looks charming as heck and I’m all for it.
As someone who still thinks The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the greatest Zelda title (might be the best game ever) I’m so happy to get a traditional Zelda experience on the Switch.
I don’t know about you, but I think 2019 is looking to be one heck of a year for Nintendo and it’s little hybrid console.
