Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14

Just as with Britannia, Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 is the final issue for a wild, action filled, high fantasy comic book. It’s an emotional story filled with blood and war that together, and I’ll admit it, made me almost cry more than once. Don’t play with my feelings as if they don’t matter, Valiant!

Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 is both touching and untamed

We see Gilad become the hero we’ve always knew that he was, the extreme avenger that risks his own life fighting for the most sacred thing in his existence –His child. It’s amazing to see how a comic can evoke such a strong feeling, both touching and untamed, exploring it in a fictional, barbaric universe.

Alternative sequences of what happened this time are used to show a concept that I’m still trying to understand: Time is not as linear as we like to believe, and sometimes, the events we live may be different for others in their own point of view. Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 explores the edges of time and space incredibly creatively.

The combat scenes, despite being fewer than in past issues, are more intense, more vivid and with and extra dose of emotional resonance that give it a different feeling than before. Let me just say that the teram behind the book really know what they’re doing, and if it seems strange at first just open you mind a little, I promise you’ll have a great time with this not only this issue but the entire series.

I think (hope) this won’t be the last time we see more of Gilad’s adventures, and whether in a new series or as a supporting character in other stories, I’m sure it will be great to read about him one more time. Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 doesn’t necessarily have to be the end, but if it is it’s a good one.

The line work seemed to be softer, to have a more fluid stroke, but still always managing to keep the rudeness and savagery that characterizes this comic.

As for the art, it shows some amazing coloring for a more realistic, cinimatic effect. Every page feels like a visual treat to the eyes, even with the blood splattered everywhere. That actually helps create an interesting contrast within all of the panels.

Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 also uses especial effects on the lettering, giving more character and drama on the letters when needed as a way to help influence the reader. It’s like they literally inject feelings into our veins as we keep reading, making us revive the conflict within ourselves, making it ours as well.

I want to also note that this time around all of the line work seemed to be softer, to have a more fluid stroke, but still always managing to keep the rudeness and savagery that characterizes this comic. There’s a clear improvement here, and I want you to see it just as I did, so make sure you buy this issue as soon as you can as it’s highly recommended!

I’m in the group of readers (and writers) that say every character needs a final resting place, never to be used again (or at least not for a while), but this time, Gilad seems to really have more to offer after Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14. However, this was one gift of an ending that I can pretty much sum up as perfect, and there will be no problem with me if this is, in fact, the end of the Eternal Warrior.
