What, are they thinking they can cut and run using a numerical increase?!
You know, nothing is ever perfect. And that’s true for launches of new Windows versions. But, uh, 11’s been kind of a disaster. And just when you thought that they were done and simply going to stabilize 11 so that it can stop being some sort of albatross for users, word of Windows 12 has begun to circulate.
Per Computerbase:
As reported by the Twitter user and Microsoft MVP award-winning security expert @SwiftOnSecurity , developments on the new operating system are already set to begin.
The tweet in question has now been deleted; according to Computerbase, Microsoft didn’t receive it well. That said, while the tweet did contain some humor (they joked about it needing two TPM modules), this isn’t just some rando on the internet. This user has an actual, for real, Most Valuable Professional award. And also, Microsoft noticed it and wasn’t amused, to the point said tweet was taken down.
Moreover, deskmodder has confirmed that while @SwiftOnSecurity was trolling with the 2 TPM module bit, the rest of the post is consistent with their information.
So, basically, if this is all to be believed, they’re going to begin working on Windows 12 in March. And they’ve already been looking for new members to facilitate getting that show on the road. And while that doesn’t mean you’ll see it anytime soon, it does mean that somewhere down the line, you’re gonna be upgrading again. God help us.
