This will be a week.
If you’ve got the hardware for it and a desire to upgrade, you’ll be happy to find out that Windows 11 has dropped a day earlier than was expected. You can take all of those new features for a spin at your leisure.
The question, of course, is whether it’s a good idea to upgrade now or not. Well:
I’d be lying if I said I knew anything about it first hand, because my old-ass computer sure as hell isn’t going to run it. But from the accounts of others, while there is the new and shiny to consider, there’s still some of the old and busted mixed in. There are things like the revamped Windows Store experience, start menu, and others. But at the same time, it also includes menus that haven’t changed in well over a decade.
And that’s to say nothing of those buying a pre-made with Windows 11, when those start to hit the market. You might not be wrong to be hesitant to switch just yet, especially if you’re not upgrading yourself.
Regardless, if you want to see what the requirements are for the new version, you can. You also have a number of typical avenues to upgrade, though the easiest is probably Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
