Westworld: The Maze Brings a Take of Choose Your Own Adventure to Alexa

Westworld: The Maze

I see a red door and I want to paint it black.

If you’re over a certain age, you might remember when Choose Your Own Adventure books were still a big thing. After the 90’s ended, they waned in popularity, all but dying out. But! The rise of digital assistants has perhaps given them a new, interesting lease on life. And a good current example of that would be Skyrim: Very Special Edition Westworld: The Maze.

The game drops you into the boots of an unnamed Westworld host. It offers 3 levels, with 60 storylines, and 400 unique choices. And if you know the right questions to ask, and to whom, you might make it to the center of The Maze.

The game has the complete sound library from the HBO series, to boot, so it’ll sound right. And several characters from the show make appearances throughout. While the game only has about 2 hours of gameplay, and can be beaten in roughly 20 minutes, that doesn’t mean they’ll be making it easy on you. Who knows; your host could get some brand new air conditioning installed by QA. And thanks to the assistant part of things, you can’t flick back a few pages to fix that.

Now to find out how to get Ye Flask.
