It was glorious, and he is now everybody’s hero.
By far, the best part of the VGA’s, however, may have been Josef Fares’ (A Way Out) time on stage. He started by pointing out that the VGA’s are better than the Oscars, followed by telling the Oscars to go fuck itself. Which is fair enough, because the bloated awards program takes up a ridiculous amount of time and almost no one goes home happy. As opposed to the VGA’s, which are tough, lean, and always inspire salt.
Watch as the river of sweat down Geoff Keighley’s back grows to dam-bursting proportions.
He then proceeded to call out the whole loot box fiasco. You know, despite the fact that A Way Out is being published by EA. This is where he became everyone’s hero. Because slightly calling out your publisher in the roundabout way he did takes gigantic brass balls the likes of which mortal man was never meant to know. Doubly so when that publisher is EA.
I’m pretty sure everyone is going to buy A Way Out, now. As to EA’s response, well, I can guess. But Josef Fares now has my undying respect.
