HeroCraft is hyped to announce that card driven turn-based tactical combat game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf, licensed by Games Workshop, is now available on Steam Early Access. It seems like at least once a week I’m talking about a new game in the Warhammer universe. Seriously, Games Workshop makes both the Star Wars and Star Trek licensed games of the mid 90s to shame in terms of pushing out content.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is a turn-based tactical game with RPG elements where you play as the Space Wolf, Valgard Twice Slain, and his squad, castaways in a hostile planet in a battle against the fanatical and deadly Word Bearers –traitors in service for the Chaos Gods. The game is driven using collectible cards representing the arsenal of weapons and abilities of the Space Marines of the Space Wolves Chapter originating from the Feral World of Fenris. Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf features epic campaign and PvP modes, with a survival mode in the pipeline.
The game was released on iOS for the first time in 2014, then half a year later on Android, with more than 3.5 million downloads in total. Yes, it’s a mobile game that’s been ported to PC and those gamers are always wary, but the Warhammer name might just be enough to get their attention.
”We have made a great PC game which offers both Steam community and Warhammer 40k fans a relevant experience they are looking for with enhanced graphics and classic PC features”, Dmitry Maksuyra, the Head of Development Team. “The game will be distributed as a full paid one, without any in-app purchases, as many have thought. From the very beginning of its Early Access period, we will release the version with the original gameplay and in-game balance to see the reaction and gather feedback. This will allow us to plan our development route based on an actual understanding of what players would like to see in our game”.
The Steam version of Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf will be remastered especially for PC players and will include:
• enhanced graphics with improved textures and materials
• dynamic lighting
• improved weapon effects and brand new weather effects
• overhauled gameplay
• completely redesigned GUI and controls
