The Warcraft film has been in development for a little while now, and last week footage from the film made its debut during a huge panel at San Diego Comic-Con. But unlike most every other film property that have a panel, nothing from the film has been made available to the public. No teaser images from the footage shown, no trailer, not even a press release about what people can expect. It’s strange as Warcraft is no small movie and has a rabid fan base of millions.
One begins to wonder if the reaction that the team got during the footage had something to do with the silence. While what we got was impressive, the Warcraft movie is feeling much like an extended cinematic from on of the video games. Blizzard has always done right by their in-game cinematics, so even in 2015 the footage we saw felt… Stale. You can check out the leaked footage below (while it lasts) and see for yourself.
Also, note the audience member that calls out the movie saying, “I’m already not interested” and noting that it’s “Just like Avatar.”
