“‘Join the army,’ they said! See the world,’ they said! I’d rather be sailing.”
The old-school Blizzard games are still making their way to GOG. Hot on the heels of Diablo, Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft II have hit the platform.
The original game is configured to work on modern PC’s, as expected of GOG. Which is also a good thing because I doubt anyone born in the new millennium knows what the fuck a Sound Blaster is. Warcraft II, on the other hand, gives players the option of either the vanilla experience, with Battle.net support, or an enhanced version with high-res graphics and bug fixes. Your purchase of Warcraft II also comes with the expansion, Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal. A pretty sweet deal, overall.
Warcraft: Orcs and Humans is $5.99, and comes with both Windows and Mac versions. Warcraft II, on the other hand, only has a Windows version at a cost of $9.99. Or, you could buy both in a bundle for $14.99. Either way, this is probably the best way to be able to play these classics, so thanks, GOG.
