The last time War Thunder made the news, it was due to a British tank’s specs getting leaked. So what’s different this time? Well, this time it’s a French tank’s specs getting leaked by a crew member that works on said tank.
In this case, the tank in question is France’s Leclerc Main Battle Tank. A supposed crew member on said tank took exception to the in-game description of the tank. And, to settle things, decided it would be a really good idea to post the tank’s manual to the War Thunder forums.
This, naturally, got the attention of the mods.
Guys its not funnny to leak classified Documents of modern equipment you put the lives of many on stake who work daily with the Vehicles! Keep in Mind that those documents will be deleted immediately alongside sanctions. Thanks for reading!
This is the second time in a year that the exact same mod has had to tell some idiot that leaking classified documents to win an argument is not a good idea.
Especially because, not only can Gaijin Entertainment not use the information provided due to the fact that it’s classified, but the differences between reality and the game are often deliberate. The governments or military entities in question typically don’t want a 1:1 replica of their equipment in a game anyone can download due to safety and security concerns.
There’s no word on what’s gonna happen to this crew member. But I can’t imagine his CO is exactly thrilled with him.
