The Gardens Between, an adventure puzzle game from The Voxel Agents where two best friends explore a surreal world of mysterious gardens, will launch on Steam for Windows and Mac later this year.

Take control of time to move Arina and Frendt towards strange beacons that ignite stars and form constellations. Each completed constellation illuminates a defining moment in their friendship, revealing a bittersweet story. It reminds me a lot of Captain Toad in how the trailer portrays things, which isn’t a bad thing as that was a lovely puzzle game.

The Gardens Between features a rich and colorful art style depicting a fantastical world that draws inspiration from contemporary illustration, landscape design and architecture. How it plays is still up in the air but the game does look lovely. The soundtrack also compliments the abstract environment with intimate, atmospheric melodies.
