The U.S. and Japan are Going to Duke it out with Giant Robots

A weapon to surpass Metal Gear!

Two years ago, we were promised the first giant robot fight. And finally, we’ll get to see the results of that fight… next week.

US-based MegaBots, Inc. challenged Suidobashi Heavy Industries to a fight between their piloted robots. Suidobashi accepted, on the condition that the fight be melee. And, after 2 long years of preparation and waiting, the fight has happened.

As far as stats go, MegaBots’ Eagle Prime weighs in at 12 tons, 16 feet tall, and runs on a 430 horsepower V8 LS3 engine. Suidobashi’s Kuratas, on the other hand is smaller, standing at 13 feet, and weighing 6.5 tons. It does, however, look like a Gundam and it has it’s own theme song. That said, the smaller stature and lower weight might have worked out in its favor if the Minovski particle density was high on the battlefield.

Get ready to witness the most incredible sports entertainment that the world has ever seen: Nation-on-nation robot combat. Multi-ton behemoths will swing punches, tearing steel armor panels off each other until one mech is left standing, while the opponent is left a heap of scrap metal. Welcome to the future of sports.

The video of the fight will be aired on the MegaBots, Inc. Twitch channel on Tuesday, October 17th, at 7 p.m. PST. After it airs, it will be uploaded to MegaBots, Inc.’s Facebook and YouTube Channels.
