Twitter Removes Character Limit On Photos, Videos & Quotes

Twitter

Twitter is know for it’s 140-character limit, but something that has always been a bummer is how many characters a photo or video take up.  That all changes today as the company announced that photos, GIFs, videos, and quotes will no longer count against the 140-character limit.

“Twitter is doing a lot to make sure users have those full 140-characters to play with”

The new feature is currently rolling out at the time of this writing so be sure to keep checking your account to see if yours has been upgraded. But there is more as some users are getting to test out an additional @-replies feature that removes the character limit when replying to a user in the @ format.

Twitter is doing a lot to make sure users have those full 140-characters to play with, but there are still some concerns on our end about the @-replies feature. With the character restriction removed, would it now be possible to create and endless Tweet train a mile long? Questions like these are probably why the feature is still in the testing phase.
