TV Land is taking a break from reruns that your grandparents love to try their hand at something a little more different.
The network is working to develop a comedic anthology based of the very cult film Heathers. If you haven’t seen the film I suggest that you do so post-haste.
The film starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater and dealt with the pair as they had to deal with the classic high school pecking order. It was a black comedy that holds cult status to this day.
This new version will see a new set of Heathers in a modern-day setting. Now word on casting or when the show will begin shooting for TV Land. The network known for Green Acres reruns has been going through a major re-branding over the past year in hopes of snagging a younger viewing audience. Heathers looks to be part of the re-branding effort.
