Dude, The Emoji Movie is not worth committing suicide over!
This one’s exactly what it says on the tin. TJ Miller has, by all appearances, taken the response to The Emoji Movie poorly. Mostly because he really threw his all into a movie that pretty much everyone else saw as a massive, unapologetic cash grab. Doesn’t help that this is a Sony film we’re talking about, and they’ve been taking massive shits in the box office for the past several years. Though, admittedly, not every movie they make is terrible. Some defy the odds. But boy are they losing a lot of money.
You don’t even need to see the movie. Deep down, you know this is accurate.
Anyway, TJ Miller had something of a meltdown on Twitter. Threatening to kill himself smack dab in the middle of it. Then later, deleting the entire chain, and pretending he just managed to dox his haters. Yes, seriously.

TJ Miller has, pretty obviously, taken all of it to heart. The film itself, the response, his place in all of it. The suicide threat is odd, though. I’m pretty sure The Emoji Movie is how internet people stave off suicidal tendencies now.
The Emoji Movie has, however, made its production budget back, so It’s not the total bomb we all thought it would be. But that doesn’t mean it broke even, yet. See, if you want a measure of the success of a movie, a good rule of thumb is to double its production budget, and you’ll get how much it cost the studio in total. because that accounts for advertising and usually priming the merchandise pump. I wouldn’t, however, put it beyond Sony Pictures to swing wide with this, so even that might fall short of what this movie cost them in total.
In short, don’t kill yourself, kids. Minor setbacks are a part of life. Learned that one the hard way. And The Emoji Movie is a bad reason to consider it in the first place.
