Moviefone? I don’t feel so good…
So, the current Avengers: Endgame hype is obviously high. But, uh, everybody might be blitzing those ticket pre-orders a bit too hard. Because multiple ticket sites have basically been taken down by the rush of customers desperate to see it. As a matter of fact, so many are trying to get tickets that, aside from intent, the effect is practically the same as a DDoS attack for most of these services. And it’s not just ticket sites, but theater sites that sell tickets as well (like AMC and Cineplex).
Hell, it’s not constrained to the U.S., either; the U.K. and Canada are affected by it too. Speaking to Deadline, Atom noted that they sold 3 times as many tickets in the first hour as they did for Avengers: Infinity War. And despite being crushed by the rush, Fandango reported some crazy numbers, too. Maybe it’s indicative of what Thanos was saying about his home. Only, instead, it’s more like too many asses and not enough seats.
