The Worst Rated PS Vita Games

A collage of gameplay scenes from five poorly rated games on the Sony PS Vita, featuring action, racing, and map exploration elements.

The PS Vita is one the greatest handheld consoles of all time. It was incredibly forward thinking, powerful, and had so many fantastic titles released for it. So, it’s unfortunate that Sony hung it out to drive almost as soon as it released.

But while the console is a beast and still holds up well, even in 2025, the system also had its fair share of crappy games that didn’t help the console show off its capabilities. If you picked up one of the following titles you alongside your Vita, you might have regretted your purchase and wanted to go back to you PSP.

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified

Call of Duty has never had it particularly easy when it comes to releases on portable consoles. The game looked nice, but it played like one of the early FPS games that released on the PS1. This is a very streamlined version of Call of Duty that only served to show and highlight the core weaknesses the series has when you strip away the large set-pieces, the killer graphics, and the campaign. What you are left with is an experience devoid of fun, excitement, and one that makes the PS Vita just look plain bad.

2. Tokyo Tattoo Girls

Who is this game for? What even is the genre that it fits into? Tokyo Tattoo Girls is a video game. That’s about all I can say about it as it looks like one of those sexy anime girl games but really isn’t. There really even isn’t a game here at all, outside of it being some sort of version of RISK. And while RISK and games like it are a lot of fun, this one isn’t and is almost completely automated. Tokyo Tattoo Girls is a game that plays itself and you just watch numbers go up and go down. Look, when people who own and played the game can’t make sense of what it exactly the game is, you probably have a bad game.

3. Drive Girls

It’s like Transformers with cute anime girls. With a premise like that it’s hard to believe that Drive Girls botched the whole thing up. What’s worse is that Drive Girls is a very short experience, so there really is no excuse for it not to be at least passable thanks to the premise alone. You just attack enemies poorly, turn into a car and drive around poorly, race against another girl poorly, and play with a very basic customization system. User DeadSix said it best, describing the game as what you get when “you take the fun and charm of Hyperdimension Neptunia U and flush it down the toilet.”

4. Lets Fish! Hooked On

There have been a lot of fishing games over the years, with a lot of them being a lot of fun. From the arcade fishing titles from Sega to the VR fishing games on the Quest, there are lots of options out there. So, when Lets Fish! Hooked On dropped on the Vita, people figured they’d at least get a fun fishing title. The issue comes about because the game is simply, well, boring. The fishing itself is monotonous with tons of tutorials that do little to explain much of anything. Let’s Fish! Hooked On just feels like a game that lacked direction and a clear goal.

5. Ridge Racer

Ridge Racer for the Vita is a strange game. It’s a fine enough racing game that feels a little like a scam. This is a very stripped down racing game with only a couple of tracks and five cars, all of which have been in past entries. In order to get more cars you need to buy DLC tied to Ridge Racer 7. It also lacks a career mode, leaving very little for the player to actually do. It feels like the original Ridge Racer on PS1 in terms of score and features at a time when the genre had long since moved on. Now, if this was released for free or for a couple of bucks to promote Ridge Racer 7 with added DLC to download it might have worked okay. As it stands the game has around 30 minutes of fun which wasn’t worth the cost then and even less so today.
