The Terminator joins the roster of WWE 2K16 because wrestling?

WWE2K16

I guess after pulling the legendary Hulk Hogan from the game over his N-word filled rant, WWE had to fill that roster spot in WWE 2K16. Since WWE pretty much owns the rights to every single wrestler and promotion in America, you would think it would be easy as pie to add in someone of the heady days of wrestling. Maybe a Verne Gagne, perhaps a Bruno Sammartino, what about a Gorgeous George (my dad’s favorite) or even that legendary combatant from the 1950 Side Eyes O’Hulahan Jones. One of those people may or may not have actually existed; I’ll leave you to figure that one out.

Still, WWE and 2K decided to pull a WCW on all of us. I’m not saying they are adding in some classic wrestler from the promotion, rather they are bringing back their Robocop gimmick in a bad way. I don’t have the space here to explain it all (Google Robocop in WCW for a good laugh), but WWE is filling a roster spot in WWE 2K16 with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Okay, so he is technically a WWE Hall of Famer for being a really buff dude, but he isn’t actually in the game himself. Instead you’ll be getting to play as his most iconic character Cona… Err, The Terminator.

The team at WWE even recreated the original opening from The Terminator using their wrestlers, strike that, Superstars to make the announcement. Check it out for yourself below:

Best known for his acting, bodybuilding and political endeavors, Schwarzenegger, a longtime WWE fan and WWE Hall of Famer, will expand his relationship with WWE through WWE 2K16 with two playable characters – T-800 from The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day films. The playable characters will be available for those who pre-order the game at participating retailers for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems, as well as Xbox One and Xbox 360. The game is scheduled for release on October 27, 2015 in North America and October 30, 2015 internationally.
