X-Men: Days of Future Past was an excellent film for the long running franchise, and one that helped save the fledgling series after the abysmal Last Stand. Still, for how good the film was it left a number of questions and one or two plat holes. We later came to realize that many of those questions were in fact answered, but with the film already running long, FOX cut all the relating scenes featuring the X-Men character Rogue. That is all about to change as this year’s Sand Diego Comic Con will play host to the first-ever screening for the “Rogue Cut” of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Four screens will be showing the film during the show, and fans at the show will be able to snag two VIP tickets that will guarantee them a seat for the show. All fans have to do is pick up the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut Blu-ray at either Fox booth #4229, or over at The Nerd HQ/IGN Lounge.
For those that can’t grab a copy, the screenings will run on a first come first serve basis until the theater fills up. You’ll be able to catch the screening at the Reading Cinema in the Gaslamp District on Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m which is just down the road from the San Diego Convention center.
Fox made the following statement regarding the “Rogue Cut”.
With a never-before-seen, alternate cut of the film—plus nearly 90 minutes of all-new, immersive special features, the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut takes you deeper into the X-Men universe than ever before. Rogue makes her return as the all-star characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves and unite to battle armies of murderous Sentinel robots who are hunting down mutants and humans alike!
