The P.T. inspired Allison Road picked up by Team17

Allison Road

The KOMANI implosion left a void in a lot of people’s hearts, but none more saddening than the loss of the next Silent Hill game. The P.T. teaser demo that popped up on the Playstation Network took the world by storm thanks to its horror gameplay and high production value for a simple demo. Turns out it was a teaser for the next Silent Hill games (Silent Hills), but with the fall of KONAMI we are no longer getting one of the most promising looking games this generation.

When P.T. disappeared a number of smaller studios took up the cause and began development of a number of horror games based on the same sort of experience that P.T. gave players. Of all of these Allison Road, by developer Lilith Ltd, looked the most promising. The Kickstarter also seemed to be on track raising $244,000 toward their goal of $384,000 with nine days still left before the close of the campaign. But the team has canceled the Kickstarter, and while this may sound like bad news, it is in fact a blessing for the team.

Publisher Team 17 –best known for their Worms franchise– has picked up the game to handle a full-scale release. This gives the developers the funding they need to get the game finished, but the support of a publisher so that they can focus all their efforts on the development. You can check out the final Kickstarter update for all the details.
