Kind of a shame in my opinion, honestly.
Among other movies, Warner Bros. has announced the release date of The Batman. And, rather noticeably, it won’t be starring Ben Affleck.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Reeves The Batman will premiere on June 21, 2021. And Deadline reports that Ben Affleck will not be playing Batman/Bruce Wayne. This, however, was expected; the film was supposedly to focus on a younger Bruce Wayne.
Affleck tweeted about the film (above), congratulating Matt Reeves on his work. Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have stated that the tweet is Affleck’s farewell to the role. Regardless of whether that’s true or not, Variety notes that sources have said that WB is very happy with Reeves’ early scripts for the film.
