The Technomancer E3 impressions

The Technomancer

I also got the chance to play The Technomancer on the show floor. This game… this game is rad. It’s going places.

We weren’t able to dig too far into the game, it being a demo and an action RPG. But everything we saw was damn good. You can mod anything, you can take any skill tree you so desire. You get to choose between three (technically five) different fighting styles on the fly. And, oh yes, you can shoot lightening from your fingertips. If ever you wanted to know what it’s like to be Emperor Palpatine, this is absolutely your game.

Mars is an absolutely glorious crapsack, ripe for the sort of action/adventury hijinx someone who can command lightening at will could possibly dream of. Nothing but evil Megacorps and oppressed citizens as far as the eye can see. Sure, you can make your avatar from several preset features, but who cares about that when there’s bad guys to electrocute to death? Or stab, or bludgeon, or electrocute in a different way (you can channel electricity into your weapons)? The important thing to take away is that you’ve got to get your ass to Mars, ’cause justice isn’t going to mete itself out, now is it?
