Warner Bros. is dangerously close to screwing the pooch. Look, I’m a huge comic book fan (DC in particular), but with the amount of television content that is being pushed upon us, most of which isn’t in any connected universe, it’s quickly getting to the point of overload.
It has just been revealed that will be getting another DC based show, this time coming to the SyFy Channel. SyFy alongside Warner Horizon Television are developing the one-hour drama series “Krypton.” The show seems to be going the same route that Gotham is taking on Fox and will tell the story of Superman’s father, Jor-El long before the birth of his son.
Syfy has confirmed that David S. Goyer (Constantine, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy,Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) are both serving as executive producers on the show. The official series description states the following:
Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”
I’m not sure about you, but I for one haven’t been clamoring for a show based on Superman’s dad. What are your thoughts?
