-Steven Soderbergh combines both versions of Psycho, and it is awesome-

Steven Soderbergh may have (supposedly) retired from filmmaking, but that’s not enough to keep the paragon out of the editing room. To wit, he’s mashed up the 1960 Psycho with Gus Van Sant’s 1998 remake, all in glorious black and white, to make a film called Psychos. Both Vince Vaughn and Anthony Perkins appear in the credits, over Saul Bass’s iconic title design and Bernard Herrmann’s inimitable score.

The whole thing is just so cool. Van Sant’s Psycho is a shot-for-shot remake of Hitchcock’s, so one wonders what other remakes (done in the same style) could be given this treatment.
