We got our first glimpse at some of the new characters when the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer dropped a little while back. This time around we get to put some names to those new faces in a pretty cool manner. J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, have revealed the names to these new characters to Entertainment Weekly in true retro Star Wars fashion.
The reveal comes in the form of Topps style movie cards that were all the rage in a time before the internet existed. The cards themselves all feature character names and feature stills from the trailer. It’s a really cool way to do a reveal and we can expect more cards in the future.
I was already looking forward to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but with the amount of care being taken and love being shown to the property by those involved, I’m even more excited for it. You can check out the cards below and each is numbered, something Abrams said was of some importance.
