A.K.A. Star Wars Battlefront 2 Chapter 5: The Empire Strikes Back.
The nonstop tire fire that is the Star Wars Battlefront 2 controversy simply won’t stop providing. In this case, the developers have disabled the purchase of crystals (the in-game premium currency) on both PSN and Amazon.
They have not done so on Xbox Live (yet), however. Some rumors have started about the possibility of a change in the economy of the game.
Rumors swirling that EA is about to pull an Xbox One…

I trust Jason Schreier… not in the least. On the one hand it’d definitely be nice if this backdraft forced them to drop the microtransactions entirely. On the other hand, and I’m fully prepared to eat my words here, it’ll probably be a cold day in Hell before that happens. And, as of right now, as far as I can tell, progression is still stuck at the abysmal rates it has been for the past week. Which means your only option right now is to play for hours to unlock stuff. So here’s hoping they fix that soon, since Star Wars Battlefront 2 launches proper today. But, if we’re being honest about it all, this shit keeps happening for a reason. Which is a shame, because aside from all of this, the game actually looks good.
