Stadia’s Free Tier Coming Eventually

Stadia came. Stadia didn’t conquer. After taking a pounding in the press and from users online, Googles, cloud gaming service, Stadia, is still trying to carve out so sort of piece of the gaming market ahead of the releases of the Xbox Series X and PS5.

Google vice president Phil Harrison told reporters that the company plans to launch a free version of Stadia sometime in 2020, titled “Stadia Base.” That’s about all we know of it at the time of this writing.

At present, a $10 monthly fee is required for Stadia which gives you access to a couple of free games you’ve probably played on consoles coming on two-generations old. New (still old) games still require purchase. No word on what will happen to your games library when the service eventually dies or Google abandons it.

Google states that it has 120 titles coming to the service in 2020, but the company is pretty quiet on just which titles have been confirmed for release this year.
