Spyro Reignited Trilogy Requires You To Download the Other 2 Games

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Oh boy.

Hey, I sure hope you weren’t  planning on just hopping into whatever Spyro game you wanted when you get Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Because Activision saw fit to do that thing where you have to download half to, in this case, 2/3rds of the thing you just bought physical.

I already own two games that do this, and I already know I hate it.

Oooohhhh, this shit.

You cannot possibly understand how much I hate this kind of shit. I hate the idea of being forced to rely on a download service for a game I bought physical with a fucking passion. The entire reason I buy things physical is so that I don’t have to download a bunch of shit, tie up the wifi, and wait around like a dumbass. And it’s not just big (in size) games like Bayonetta and RE: Revelaitons that do it; both Mega Man collections do it too, despite the fact that I’m pretty sure you could fit all of that shit on a single card/disc in each case (and in the case of Mega Man Collection Vol.1 & 2, you definitely could).

And here’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy, doing this despite being on a goddamn Bluray disc. I can’t stand it; it irritates the piss out of me. Especially because it sure as shit isn’t convenient to the end user; doubly so if your internet connection is crap. It’s really only convenient to those printing the game, because they have less to do and lowered cost. Still seems to bring my piss to a boil, like stupidly prohibitive DRM that makes it harder to play a legally bought game.

I don’t know, maybe I’m being irrational. Or maybe doing this shit is just really irritating and in a lot of cases unnecessary.
