Remember when Final Fantasy was a strictly 2D affair? Well, it seems that Square Enix does because they are bringing out a brand new Final Fantasy game that pays homage to its SNES days. Final Fantasy Record Keeper will be making its way to the US on both iOS and Android in the coming weeks.
This new sport based game will supposedly bring together every Final Fantasty hero (yes, even Cloud…),bringing with it a free-to-play title. I know what you’re thinking, “But Square loves charging crazy prices for their mobile games?” and you’d be right for thinking that way as Record Keeper will be littered with in-app purchases.
Record Keeper has already been doing gangbusters for Square Enix and developer DeNA in Japan with the game just recently hitting 5 million downloads. If you re-register right now before the game launches, you’ll be able to snag some neat character unlocks that will be available once the game drops.
The special pre-registration character looks to be Final Fantasy X protagonist Tidus (Ugh…), so if him and his terrible laugh, clothes, personality, everything is your cup of tea then go nuts. You can catch the trailer for Final Fantasy Record Keeper below:
