Rare used to be a studio that churned out amazing title after amazing title back in the days of the Nintendo 64. After the studio was acquired by Microsoft it has struggled to find its footing. Well, it looks as if some of those former Rare people are coming back in a big way with a new studio by the name of Playtonic Games.
We always love when teams that made incredible games in the past come together, but what really makes things special is that Playtonic Games already has their first project in the works and that it will be a spiritual successor to the famed Banjo Kazooie series.
No official word yet regarding details of the project aside from a teaser image (see below), but we can expect the big news to be coming in the next issue of EDGE Magazine soon. All we know is that players can expect the game to launch through Steam with hopes to hit all major platforms including the Wii U.
