‘Spider-Man’ Steals The Show At Sony’s E3 Media Briefing

Insomniac teased some of us with a small bit of footage of Spider-Man at E3 last year, but they really stunned the world with what the team showed off to close out the Sony E3 Media Briefing. And what we got was some serious high-flying action that showed off everyone’s favorite web-head.

What was the most striking was just how well Spider-Man moved through the gameplay demo they showed off. The swinging mechanic looks incredible and rivals that of Spider-Man 2. It seems Insomniac really understands what drew fans into that game in the first place.

The gameplay video was surprisingly lengthy and showed off a lot of what we can expect. The combat feels a lot like that of the Batman Arkham games, but with a quicker and more smooth feel. The large scripted segments also looked like a lot of fun thanks to the major set pieces the game tossed in Spidey’s path.

But the coolest bit was the very Marvel style after credits bumper that showed off Miles Morales, who is also Spider-Man in the current comics. I know it sounds weird, but comics are pretty insane and Morales is a very highly regarded character.
