If it doesn’t have Newspaper Spider-Man getting clonked on the head, I’ll be mildly disappointed.
Sony Pictures animation is putting out a Spider Man movie, and it isn’t Peter Parker based. They’re putting Miles Morales front and center in SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE.
And while it seems kind of an odd choice since Sony’s only really got one successful Spider-Man movie under their belt this decade, it really isn’t. Also, they’re using this, and Miles by extension, to open up the whole Spider-Verse concept. Though one wonders just who (or rather which Spider-Man) he’s talking to at the end of the trailer.
And hey, it’s a better use of the talents at Sony Pictures Animation than The Emoji Movie. Regardless, SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE won’t be out until Christmas 2018.
