Spider-Man is Locked to 30fps on PS4 and Pro, Mary Jane Playable

Can’t wait for the Concussion DLC

Game Informer had a fair bit of info about the upcoming Spider-Man game. Namely that, regardless of which version of the system you’re playing on, the game is locked to 30fps. And, considering Insomniac is working on it, the comparison is apt; it’s way larger than Sunset Overdrive.

The interview with Insomniac’s Brian Inhitar also included some info about post release content. There will be a DLC titled The City That Never Sleeps. And a rousing “Hell no” in response to a question about whether the game will have microtransactions.

The game will have a very large number of costumes for Spidey. Two Game Informer noted from the menu list were “Noir” and the wrestling suit. The game will also focus primarily on Marvel characters; they wanted to avoid too many original characters mucking things up. Notably, Mary Jane will actually be playable in the game. As to how that works out, though, is anyone’s guess.

There’s even a photomode in the game. You can live a day in the life of a certain Daily Bugle freelancer that way. You can even interact with NPC’s in this mode, tanking selfies with them and the like.

Spider-Man releases on PS4 September 7th this year.
