Sony announced on their social media platforms that the upcoming PS5 reveal event scheduled for June 4. The move comes as protests ramp up in the wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of police.
The company noted that they do not want their event to take away from the current message and are choosing to “stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”
While the event was highly anticipated by fans, it seems the response to the announcement has been mostly positive with comments praising the move or noting that while it sucks, it is the right move under the current conditions.
Then, of course, there are the people who want to hear about their beloved video game console (not even a release, just information) over the lives and deaths of those seeking justice.
