Gotta go slightly slower than previously stated.
So, the backlash to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer was… significant. And almost immediately after, Jeff Fowler, the movie’s director, took to Twitter to let everyone know that they were going to make things right.
Not mentioned, however, was the fact that redoing these sorts of effects is time intensive, to say the least. Honestly, with the movie’s planned release of November this year, that probably wouldn’t be enough time to get everything done. Well, in response to the worries about the crunch these VFX artists would be under, Fowler once again tweeted out the fact that a new date has been set: February 14, 2020.
While there’s no word on the redesign proper, the image does give a little hint. The sign is being held by what is obviously Sonic’s gloved hand. Which sort of indicates they’re going more traditional with the redesign.
