“It’ll be ready when it’s ready.”
Via Sega Blog we are getting word that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is being delayed. The game was initially supposed to launch in time for the holiday season (sound familiar), but is now being pushed back to sometime in 2016.
That’s a pretty huge window for the game which leads me to believe that Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice needs some major work under the hood. The developers, Sanzaru Games will use the time to polish the game and improve the experience as a whole.
With the Sonic franchise not just dead, but clawing its boney corpse straight to the center of the earth, this is only good news for the series. Look, we all expect it to be terrible, but all it takes is one bad game to kill off a developer so it’s good that Sega is giving it time to… Well, to be something.
