Are you really surprised?
Fast enough to blast your hair back, the SNES Classic has already been hacked to allow sideloaded games. And that’s mostly due to the fact that it’s… pretty similar to the NES Classic.
Russian tinkerer “Cluster” originally needed a few months to crack the NES Classic. But he achieved the same goal with the SNES classic in a little over a week. Thus, he updated the hakchi2 tool (FAQ) to allow for hacking Nintendo’s new nostalgia box in the latest release.
The really odd thing about it, though? Nintendo seems pretty chill about it; which is surprising considering their stance towards… literally everything else involving their IP’s. They even left messages to modders on bot the NES Classic and SNES Classic:

So, after the SNES Classic, anyone else hoping for an N64 Classic?
