Back in the year 1994 there came a game that revolutionized the industry and that game was Super Metroid, err I mean System Shock, no wait, Sonic 3, shit… Ah hell, Shaq Fu came out and it was terrible. So terrible in fact that many retailers slashed the price of the game by near 75 percent only days after release. Over the years there have even been internet campaigns to collect every known copy and destroy them to save future generations from just how terrible it was. Unfortunately, those efforts may have worked too well as we now have an indiegogo crowd funding project to resurrect the game.
The big man himself, Shaq is partnering with Big Deez Productions (classy), which is made up of game industry vets that have worked on games like Halo and Street Fighter (so they say as we can’t find any info on this). The game is being billed as a beat-em-up (which haven’t worked in generations I might add) and will have you playing as Shaq. The developers are promising a co-op mode as well (a double Shaq attack perhaps, maybe a tiny Kobe?).
The game has a look very similar to Street Fighter IV, only a lot less impressive. The trailer is clearly poking fun at itself and if it does play for laughs, it just may be a fun little downloadable title. Hell, at the end on the trailer we have Shaq saying, “This time we won’t fool up.” We would hope not, as the developers are asking for $450,000 bucks!
