I’m honestly surprised it took this long.
Following a pair of arrests within a single week in Hawaii, Warner Bros. and DC higher ups are reportedly putting a hold on any more DC projects featuring Ezra Miller. Per Rolling Stone:
On March 30, Warner Bros. and DC executives held an emergency impromptu meeting to discuss Ezra Miller’s future with the studio following The Flash star’s recent arrest for disorderly conduct and harassment. According to a knowledgeable source, the consensus in the room was to hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Extended Universe.
Honestly, the timing probably couldn’t be worse for the studio. They’re in the middle of a merger with Discovery, and a number of people are leaving the studio because they see the writing on the wall. There’s also the upcoming The Flash movie starring Miller; there are reports of numerous meltdowns from the actor on set, though insiders don’t describe any of them as being violent.
This isn’t the actor’s first time in the news for somewhat violent behavior, either. In early 2020, video began circulating of Miller allegedly choking a woman in a bar in Reykjavik. Friendly reminder that the same year saw Warner Bros. ditch Johnny Depp over his particularly messy divorce with Amber Heard.
It’s hard to call it just yet, but the steadily increasing incidents are probably going to deal some damage to Miller’s career if they keep happening. Miller may have torpedoed that career as a major star.
