Your favorite stages and soundtracks are back; do you have what it takes to beat the clock?

First released globally for arcades back in 1986 to critical and commercial success, Out Run is the seminal racing experience created by the legendary designer Yu Suzuki and the Sega AM2 team. Take in a variety of picturesque landscapes from a lowered third-person perspective as you race against time to reach your destination while avoiding traffic and other treacherous obstacles.

SEGA Games History: Out Run Facts and Trivia

Out Run was first conceived as a racing game called DEAD HEAT, where you drove a Formula One race car, before it became a driving simulator with a commercial car to help set it apart.

Out Run was also modeled after the American cross-country road race seen in the film The Cannonball Run before planners Yoji Ishii and Yu Suzuki switched gears to Europe due to the wider variety of landscapes.

This SEGA AGES release contains tracks added for the 3DS version of Out Run along with all-new arranged versions of songs from the Genesis and Master System releases, such as MIDNIGHT HIGHWAY -PLAYBACK-, and even includes a chiptune version of RADIATION from Out Run 2006: Coast 2 Coast.
