“Because it’s not ‘what the hell do I want’, it’s ‘what does Hell want to do with you?'”
Look, I was never the biggest Spawn fan back in the day, I’ll be up front about that. But I had a friend who was. And I’m guessing that he, and you, are losing your minds right now.
Now, Todd McFarlane’s been talking about this for a while now. He wrote the script himself. What you might not guess is that he’s also directing. And before you think it’s too good to be true and that it won’t happen, there’s already a production company in on it. The film will be produced by Jason Blum, along with his company Blumhouse Productions, which was responsible for Get Out, Split, and the Paranormal Activity series. Which, overall, lends a bit of stability to things.
McFarlane has also stated that the film won’t be a continuation of the 1997 movie. Moreover, it’ll be exactly what fans want from a Spawn movie (dark, R-rated, scary, badass). There’s no real schedule, yet, but I’m sure We’ll hear about it.
