SDCC 2017: Blizzard’s Merch Bomb

I want that Bastion.

Blizzard’s dropping a whole lotta goodness on SDCC 2017. But first, they’re doing away with their San Diego Comic Con exclusives. And replacing them with a system too complex for me to really care.

Blizzard, in an effort to reach more loyal fans and reduce disappointment and high after-market prices, is trying something different this year: They’re doing away with San Diego Comic-Con exclusives.

Instead, the company will offer Convention Exclusive merchandise that will also be available at conventions such as Blizzcon and Gamescon, as well as Blizzard Exclusives that will be available at the conventions where Blizzard has a booth and the Gear Store, and Premiere items which will debut at Comic-Con but will be available at the retailers and/or the Gear Store at a later time.

To make purchasing easier for SDCC attendees Blizzard is setting up Blink Sales. All Blizzard Exclusives will be available at the Gear Store for purchase starting on Wednesday, July 19.

Did you get all that? I sure didn’t; but we’re about the merch, here. And what a bounty of riches it is. Among them, two limited edition prints:

As well as several Overwatch: Uprising limited edition recruitment posters sold in classified folder packaging:

You’ve also got the Pop! figurines. The Golden Soldier 76 is convention exclusive.

But the creme of the crop? The Colossal versions of the Blizzard Cute But Deadly line. The regular line is blind bags, which inspire murder in me. But these are pretty dang cool, and are of characters for whom it works: Bastion and Arthas. Bastion works particularly well.

There’s also a number of smaller items and wearables, like this glowing D.Va keychain. There are also Convention bags of the oversized variety. All of this is really making me wish I could attend. And that I’d won the lottery so that I wouldn’t have to declare bankruptcy.
