Okay, we’re probably all mildly disappointed that Danny Devito didn’t get get cast as Detective Pikachu. But if there’s one thing Deadpool taught me, Ryan Reynolds is just about perfect for this. he speaks internet, and Australian.
Reynolds joins Justice Smith (The Get Down, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies) on the picture. The movie’s being written by Nicole Pearlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls), so it’ll definitely be funny.
Detective Pikachu has no set release date at this time. Not surprising, since the game it’s based off of still hasn’t left Japan.
