Rockstar Games Makes GTA: San Andreas Free With A Catch

The only catch is you’ll need their fancy new game launcher

Publisher Rockstar Games has announced that they are getting in on the action with their very own PC game launcher. The company is looking to unite all the Rockstar properties under one roof and make it easier for fans to access their content.

Seems to me like it’ll only make this harder and more fragmented, but what do I know. All I do know is that I have more launchers on my desktop than I have shortcuts to actual games. Steam, U-Play, GOG, Origin, Twitch Prime, Bethesda, and more.

But let’s be honest here: this is a move to make more money because of GTA: Online and Rockstar selling those Shark Cards to continue to fund the studio without having to start working on another GTA game. People complain about it but dummies keep buying Shark Cards and going broke.

In order to entice fans onto their new platform, the company is giving away a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a limited time. It’s much the same play that Bethesda pulled with its own launcher, offering up Morrowind to players.
