Rocket League Is Now Free-To-Play; Epic Will Give You $10 Credit To Play It

Rocket League

How magnanimous.

The promised day has come. Rocket League is now free-to-play.

And what’s more, Epic wants to pay you to play it! You’ll get a full $10 Epic Game Store credit if you download the game between now and November 1st.

In case you missed it: anyone who downloads Rocket League on the Epic Games Store between September 23 through October 23, 2020 will receive a $10 Epic Coupon that can be used on qualifying games and add-ons priced $14.99 and up – like the new Rocket League Jäger Pack!

Of course, you might have noticed the catch: that coupon only applies to content costing $14.99 or more. There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch, my friends.

Coincidentally, back when Psyonix announced that the game was going free-to-play back in July, they also mentioned that nayone that already owned the game would get Legacy status. This gives you some free DLC, and does so across all platforms. Yes, including Steam, provided you bought it before it was delisted.

You’ll also be able to transfer progress between all platforms you play on. So, hey, you don’t have to deal with Epic’s frankly terrible launcher if you don’t want to. Sweet.
