You can’t do this on Nintendo.
One of the nice things to come out of CES that isn’t difficult for me to parse is the relatively small amount of gaming news. Especially salient is some of the peripherals Retro-bit has coming down the pipeline this year. Because despite the fact that Nintendo nostalgia is always present, they’re giving Sega’s systems some love.
Old controllers wear down and break; it just happens, no matter how careful you are. Which is why it’s a good thing that Retro-bit are turning out reproductions of Sega Genesis (Mega Drive for those outside the U.S.), Sega Saturn, and Dreamcast controllers, among others. Not only are the controllers pretty decent reproductions, they’ve got some new tricks up their sleeves. All of them are Bluetooth Wireless capable, coming with a receiver that plugs into your system of choice.
But Retro-bit didn’t stop at controllers; they’ve also got some new cables for these old systems. They have S-video cables for both the Genesis and Saturn, and a VGA box for the Dreamcast. Not to mention new power cables for all three. So if you were a Sega kid, your cup runneth over thanks to Retro-bit.
