Wishlist now to be a part of this pulse-pounding mixed reality FPS adventure!
The time is near, and our reality is at stake! Resolution Games, the leading spatial games studio, today announced more information about Spatial Ops, the world’s first competitive multiplayer shooter in mixed reality (MR), that is available to wishlist in the Meta Quest Store today (trailer here). This pulse-pounding first-person shooter (FPS) is set to launch out of beta in 2024.
“Spatial Ops is definitely an enormous innovative step from Resolution Games and over the last couple years of development has turned into one of the most expressive forms of immersive gaming that I have ever seen,”
said Tommy Palm, CEO and co-founder of Resolution Games.
“We’ve paid attention to every component of this game – from the teleportation being your own natural movement not unlike what you would experience when playing laser tag or paintball to the broader mixed reality component that brings this game to life in your own environment. Spatial Ops truly illustrates how far this technology has come and what we are able to do in mixed reality and the shooter genre.”
In the launch version coming out later this year, Spatial Ops will put players into the shoes of a Spatial Ops agent – a member of an elite agency tasked with defending Earth from mysterious and dangerous threats. Agents will embark on perilous missions, venturing into uncharted realms to confront and defeat sinister factions endangering our world.
The previously released early beta version of Spatial Ops, which UploadVR called “rare peek forward into the true future of mixed reality” and won NYX Game Awards categories of Meta Quest VR Game – Best Innovation and Best Multiplayer – gold and silver respectively – features the current PvP mode of the game that will be updated at launch, is still available on SideQuest up until the Meta Quest launch and supports 1-8 players on Meta Quest 2, 3, or Pro. In the game, players can turn any real-world space into an urban battlefield and form teams with friends or go solo against bots and compete for glory in Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Domination modes, or go rogue where it’s every player for themselves in Free-For-All mode.
The coming launch version of Spatial Ops will focus on reduced gametime setup, pre-set and movable maps, performance optimization, more gameplay, more enemies, and more modes than ever before. To get the latest news on Spatial Ops, Meta Quest players can add to their wishlists. Also, be sure to follow Spatial Ops on X, Discord and YouTube.
