Take charge of your home security with the Reolink Home Hub—a powerful, privacy-focused solution that keeps your data safe and your system running smoothly, even when offline. Unlike cloud storage, which comes with recurring fees and potential vulnerabilities, this hub little guy stores everything locally, giving you full ownership of your recordings.
We’ve covered Reolink before when we wrote about their fantastic Argus 4 Pro color night vision security camera. It’s a cool piece of tech that I still use at home. But there was one thing that we had issues with, something that really affects all security cameras: storage. Sure, every company (Reolink included) have some sort of card-based storage and a cloud storage system for a fee, but what about those that want control over all of their own content? That’s where the Reolink Home Hub comes into the picture.
By implementing the Home Hub you now have full control over all the content that all of your cameras capture without needing to worry about the cloud. No hidden costs, no subscription fees—just secure, offline storage that’s always accessible. This little router-looking device comes with a 64GB microSD card but supports dual-slot expansion (up to 2×512GB) for all your storage needs. This adds up to years of storage space. And remember that all this comes with NO FEES! That might be the most beautiful two words in the English language, especially in this economy!

The Home Hub handles up to 8 cameras, including 16MP ultra-HD, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi 6 models. This means you can hook up all your Reolink cameras for the ultimate security. I’ve always had issues with having different cameras at home, especially since each requires its own app to access, and each requires me to pay for cloud storage to get all the features. Sure, I can always use a microSD card, but that footage stays on the device the card is inserted in. This is a serious security issue because if the camera is knocked down your footage is potentially gone. The Home Hub solves this concern by routing all footage from your cameras to the hub in your home.
Talking about security the Home Hub features exclusive military grade encryption that protects your footage, even if a camera or SD card is stolen. Let’s face it, home security cameras are normal now and criminals and others have become smart by breaking them or taking them in order to protect their illegal activities. But what’s really impressive (if things weren’t already) is the true offline operation Reolink offers. To achieve this the home hub creates a local LAN network. This means that your cameras keep recording without internet, so no critical moment is missed. That feature is a game-changer in my book as it gives you serious peace of mind.
And because everything is connected to the Home Hub you get instant alarms when motion is detected alongside with customizable ringtones to keeps things fun and so you don’t have to reach for every alert. You also get live feeds and playbacks in HD (16mp) from multiple devices via the simple to use Reolink App. Inside the app you’ll also be able to create organized event logs (daily/weekly/monthly) which make it easy to track activity and review footage from all your connected cameras.

You can also easily share access with the whole family for added protection and to keep everyone involved in keeping your home safe. It’s pretty simple to assign access with custom permissions and expiration dates if you need them. And while there is only one admin account for security purposes, you can set up ten sub-accounts so that every member of the family can access content for added security. I’m so used to being the only person monitoring our home security (it’s hard enough with several apps) and being able to include the family is huge deal for me.
But what about the content itself? With so much being saved checking it all at the end of the day/week can be a sizable chore. The Reolink Home Hub makes things super simple in this aspect as it can condense hours of footage into seconds—perfect for capturing fun moments, jobs around the house, or other long-term events in a neat fast-forward format that looks ripped straight out of one of those cop shows. It’s crazy the number of features this little $99 box has to supplement your home security needs.
The Relink Home Hub really is a game-changer for anyone who values privacy, flexibility, and reliability in their security system, but most importantly with those who want control over their own content and not floating out there on some server. With local storage, robust encryption, and seamless offline operation, it’s the ultimate way to protect what matters—without relying on the cloud. If you already have a Reolink camera or system then the Home Hub is highly recommended. If you don’t, well, it might just be time to start looking at the Reolink range and make the switch!
