Does mustache removal count?
Remember how a short while ago we mentioned the tech that removed Henry Cavill’s mustache better than $50million in effects? And that it’s also been used for fake porn? Well, Reddit is the latest to ban that A.I. generated fake porn from their site. Their latest policy update reads as such:
We want to let you know that we have made some updates to our site-wide rules against involuntary pornography and sexual or suggestive content involving minors. These policies were previously combined in a single rule; they will now be broken out into two distinct ones.
As we have said in past communications with you all, we want to make Reddit a more welcoming environment for all users. We will continue to review and update our policies as necessary.
And indeed, they’ve purged the parts of the site that were engaged in distributing fake porn. Site board /r/deepfakes (primarily making and distributing fake “celebrity” porn) is no more. They’re also going after anything “involuntary”, such as “creepshots” and “upskirt images”. The overt reason is obvious; this is the kind of stuff that gets sites hosting it in trouble, not to mention how skeevy it is. Even porn sites have been banning it. The background reason for this, however, is that the site is preparing for a redesign. And when you’re going to that kind of trouble, you want all of the garbage to be gone.
