Rare to bring back Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Battletoads & More

Banjo-Kazooie

Gamers have been clamoring for the next installment in the Banjo-Kazooie series since the days of the Nintendo 64. As the years have gone by we have sort of pushed the idea of a new Banjo-Kazooe deep down into the vaults of vaporware, but it looks like Rare is finally thinking about making it happen.

Talking with the Inner Circle podcast, Ken Lobb, creative director for Microsoft Studios said that,

Will there ever be another Banjo, Viva, Blast Corps, Battletoads? Yeah, someday, We know there’s value. We have a lot of passion internally for each of the games. And we have surprises in store in the near and long future.

While Rare may have a special place in most of our hearts, it’s safe to say that most gamers of today don’t even know the company as a major player, let alone the Banjo series.  Remember that it’s been 15 years now since the last official Banjo release and we fear that far too much time has passed with the original team behind the games long since gone.

We are excited to see more from the classic Rare that we all know and love, but we will remain skeptical until, at the very least, we see some gameplay footage.
